Every since the first time I heard this song I fell in love with it.  Ne-Yo your swag, your voice, your creativity, and your smile are just heart melting.  There hasn't been an R&B male artist like you in a very long time and i'm so happy that you have brought that sound back to music.  I've always been independent and never looked for a man to take care of me and mine.  For you to come out with a song that recognizes us women who are out here making our own ends and paying our own bills is greatly appreciated.  Keep making great music and i'll keep listening Ne-Yo!!!!!!!

Love this song, first time I heard it. It gave me goose boops like he, himself was singing it in my ear. Been a big fan of Ne-yo since the first time I heard anything that he has wrote, sang, danced, and anything that he has ever touched. This song right here is talking about me , because I am very independent and I love my independence. For you to make a song to show your appreciation, needs to take heed to the men that don"t. Keep on trying to teach them something, they might learn one day . Treat a woman like you would your mother or daughter,and it's all good. I support anything you do Mr. Year of the Gentleman. Represent Arkansas for me, I didn't know it's your birthplace. I have never made a comment on an artist before and I love them all, but it's just something about this young man. I have to be honest Ne-Yo. I'm typically not a fan of songs that speak on women being independent. [until now] Its not so much I don't like the "inspiration" behind the song ...I don't like when the supposed "independent" women claim to be independent under false reason. I would go into this further, but I don't want to offend anyone. I just hope that you're familiar with what I'm talking about. I want to say though, that I am a fan of this particular song because it outlines EXACTLY what an independent woman should be. With this song, I can only HOPE that men will listen with open ears and start to look for truly independent women. If they do, then maybe we'll start to see MORE women who are actually independent in the RIGHT sense. Very good work! I'm so proud of you and this one.
